Delhi Redz

When RMZ Group decided to establish Delhi Redz as one of the six founding teams of the new Rugby Premier League in India, I was brought on board by NU Branding studio to create the team’s entire visual universe — from the ground up. This was a rare opportunity — the chance to define the look, tone and legacy of a sports team at the start of its journey.

A New Chapter in Indian Rugby

India’s relationship with sports is changing. With GMR’s backing and Rugby India’s vision, the 2025 debut of the RPL marks a significant step forward for the game in the country.

Delhi Redz, the capital’s team, needed an identity that captured both Delhi’s ferocity and the sport’s raw spirit — one that could unite players, supporters, and an entire city.

This was a solo, end-to-end engagement. I led every facet of the design system:

  • Logo and emblem systems
  • Custom typography and color palette
  • Jersey and kit design
  • Fan merchandise and supporter wear
  • Apparel for player training and coaching staff
  • Visual identity for digital and print

The Kit: Crafted for Impact

I designed a kit that would look equally fierce under stadium lights and in the streets. The home and away jerseys channel a deep, battle-ready red contrasted with gunmetal grey and muted black, creating an aesthetic that feels as confident as the team itself.

Attention was paid to material zones, ventilation placement, and sponsor positioning — all laid out with performance and visual hierarchy in mind.

Supporter culture is at the core of every great team. For Delhi Redz, I created a merchandise system that feels equally rooted in sport and streetwear — hoodies, caps, scarves and training apparel designed to foster pride and wearability.

The Beginning of a Legacy

This wasn’t just about designing for a season. It was about shaping the visual beginnings of a team, a city’s pride, and possibly a national movement for rugby.

As the Rugby Premier League enters its debut season in 2025, I’m proud to have played a role in defining how Delhi Redz takes the field — and how their identity might evolve in the years to come.
